I'll be tweeting every now and then (@victorkane https://twitter.com/victorkane) at the vigil outside the Buenos Aires Comodoro Py courthouse ( just getting underway http://www.marianoferreyra.com.ar/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/600x0_635102.jpg ), where a verdict is expected to begin to provide justice for the murder of Mariano Ferreyra, shot dead in October 2010 while participating in a campaign in defense of outsourced railway workers right to union contract jobs, in the context of an ongoing struggle to rid the unions of the trade union bureaucracy in collusion with the railway monopolies (some their own!), the police, and the State. Well, they're all on trial, been on trial for six months, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. LIfe sentences are expected for those responsible all the way down from Unión Ferrioviaria Railway Union leader José Pedraza to the henchmen who carried it out, lesser sentences for others, including cops who liberated the area. Whatever the verdict and sentences, the next step will be to demand that the railway monopolies and Labour Minister Carlos Tomada (recently published audio recordings show him to be in collusion with Pedraza), along with others in the government and all those responsible, be placed on trial.
