Dear Friends of Tom English, Tom had a serious accident Friday on the 405 Freeway. He has a broken hand, some broken ribs and a head injury. His Toyota truck was totaled. He is healing but could desperately use some money to help him out at this time. He only had liability insurance, which leaves him with no transportation to get to work or to fundraisers and rallies. Many of you know Tom as a singer-songwriter who's been helping keep our spirits up for years now with his involvement in the Peace Movement. Tom has worked and sang for both Dennis Kucinich and Marcy Winograd in their campaigns for congress. Tom has also worked closely with Blase & Theresa Bonpane of The Office of The Americas. He is part of The OOA Singers, which also includes Larry Dilg & Mimi Kennedy. Tom has also been part of the PDA - The Progressive Democrats of America. He has sang at many events I have been at over the years, including some at our home. Whenever Tom would sing the famous anti-war song: 'Waltzing Matilda' - everyone would feel the depth & compassion of his conviction to end war. Tom is a very kind and loving person. He always has a big smile on his face and he obviously loves people. He's a hard worker who has been fighting for Peace & Justice for a long time. But right now anything we can send his way - even ten or twenty dollars - can really help him through this very difficult time. I'm putting a check in the mail to Tom today.
