Any "Police Oversight Committees" MUST be ELECTED by the democratic vote of the citizens and NOT be appointed by the City Council or by the Federal Government or by the Police Department or by any of the Politicians etc. And NO POLICE or police "representatives" can be on the "Police Oversight Committee".
And any such "Police Oversight Committees" MUST have the power to Hire and Fire All the Police personnel - including the Police Chief and the power to set ALL police policies and procedures. Most (ALL) of the so called "Police Oversight Committees" that have been established have been puppets of the City Government and even puppets of the Police Chief and most (All) of the "Police Oversight Committees" that have been established have not had any real power but only the ability to "recommend" things and "give reports". And Most (virtually ALL) of the so called "Police Oversight Committees" that have been established Have Been a SHAM! Let's not let that happen Again!
