Take Action: No U.S. Military Intervention in Syria!
As UFPJ honors the 50th Anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington, U.S.
Navy Ships approach Syria with the threat of an imminent attack. We can’t
help but think back to the words of Dr. Martin Luther King about the
travesty of war. Dr. King stated that “Our lives begin to end the day we
become
silent about things that matter.”

_U.K. to Present U.N. Resolution Over Syria_

The U.K. government said it will present a resolution to the United
Nations Security Council later Wednesday condemning last week's suspected
chemical-weapons attack by the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and
requesting authorization for "all necessary measures" to protect civilians.
The U.K. will call for authorization for all measures under Chapter 7 of
the U.N. Charter which covers how the international community responds to
threats to peace and acts of aggression. Those measures could range from
breaking of diplomatic contacts and economic sanctions, to action by air, sea
or land forces that may be necessary to maintain or restore international
peace and security.
Britain and allies such as the U.S. and France have blamed the Syrian army
for carrying out a large-scale chemical-weapons attack on the suburbs of
Damascus last Wednesday which killed hundreds of people. The Syrian
government has denied carrying out a chemical-weapons attack.
Russia has blocked previous U.N. resolutions condemning the actions of the
Assad regime.
