A number of internationally known experts on nuclear power have weighed in on 
the seriousness of the disaster.  These include Robert Alvarez, Dr. Rosalie 
Bertell, Dr. Helen Caldicott, Arnie Gundersen, David Lochbaum, and Joseph 
Mangano.  Other individuals who have expressed alarm include the American 
leaders Senator Bernie Sanders,  and Congressmen Edward Markey and Ron Wyden, 
and the Japanese Akio Matsumura and former UN Ambassador Matsuhei
 Murata.

Japanese authorities have admitted that an estimated 300 tons of radioactive 
water groundwater leaks every day into the Pacific Ocean.
