I am new to breeding, however, a lot of the breeders on the web online, have theories of coats, allergy types, best foods (commercial, vs. natural, vs BARF Raw food-gross) and many think multigenerational's get too much poodle and others say F1's don't have enough poodle, some say f1b's are better,...on and on in authority, LOL! I like to read it all and am watching to see what is really true...if not all or none. I am raising my first litter.
So far from listening to others and reading, several things cannot be determined through breeding or DNA: Temperament (because of environmental factors) Coat types to allergenic's, because several have stated excessive shedding in each coat type, and others none at all in theirs of the same type and all that must be added to the fact that some allergies have nothing to do with shedding, but dander or saliva. Also, several different breeders have called wooly and fleece coats as such, and others would call the same type coat simply wavy/curly. Maybe because it is a new breed (fairly) is the reason for people being all over the board with misinformation or lack there of, or maybe it is all just guess work. There are several who state the facts that you really can't guarantee a dog is hypoallergenic or of good temperament...one can leave a breeder as good temperament and then be abused by owner or have disabilities not apparent, like epilepsy, aggressiveness and such.
The higher end prices are for OFA, Cerf, DNA, (none of which is a guarantee that your dog will be defect free) tattooing, Microchip, and special training...and some for excessive profit. It is so hard to know and say. I am forever reading, learning, exploring...but who knows who is right.
Just my thought on the subject.
Puppies calling me...
