I must re-home my beloved miniature black labradoodle because we've
come to realize that he requires a home without children. He has some
medical issues that are addressed in the attached poster we've
drafted. My brother is fostering him for me because he has a quiet
home without kids and it is his email address on the poster. Bandit
is quite possibly the cutest dog you will ever meet. I cut and
pasted the test of the poster here:

Young Special Needs Dog Available For Adoption 2/23/05:
CM Miniature Labradoodle
(Miniature Poodle Labrador Mix)
Size: 15 pounds
Age: 11 months

Currently, "Bandit" is in a foster-care situation and needs a new
home. Bandit requires a firm, yet kind owner who does not have
children or cats. He is good with other dogs, though a bit pushy at
times. He "works" for food, praise or play, and bonds strongly to
his people. He knows all of his obedience commands and loves to play
fetch. As you can see, he is cuteness incarnate!

Bandit has special needs. He has been treated for dominance
aggression (mainly directed towards children in the family with whom
he formerly lived) and possible seizure-related aggression. Bandit
has been evaluated at Tufts by Dr. Dodman and treated with medication
and behavioral training that has produced excellent results.
Bandit's issues are currently well managed with phenobarbital for the
seizures and Prozac for the aggression. The dominance is being
successfully managed via a leadership program focusing on working for
everything ("nothing in life is free") and on rewarding wanted
behaviors (positive reinforcement). It's very important for Bandit
to stay on his medication and for his new owner to be very consistent
in maintaining the leadership program, so that Bandit doesn't regress
to his former behaviors.

Bandit is very enthusiastic about, well, everything. His energy
level is high and he needs lot of exercise or he could be destructive
in the home. About 5 times a week he runs for 20-30 minutes/day on a
treadmill (he loves it!).

out an application, which I will be happy to email upon request.
