FYI: The AU labradoodle is a totally different dog than the American 1st crosses. They are and have been bred a certain way since the 70's. They have some other breeds in the cross besides Lab and Poodle (however the majority is lab/poodle) to perfect the cross and get the desired coat, temperament and build. I am sure the American crosses are nice dogs but just different. You are simply not buying the same dog. This I am certain of. Would be happy to further explain what I mean if someone is researching or interested.

Where can I get one in the US? There are pups available at www.oregonlabradoodles.com These are multi-gen AU bred dogs however. Amy- This site may be helpful to you: http://www.goldendoodles.com/breeders.htm I would also add this breeder to the list: http://www.loveabledoodles.com/ I got my girl, Ruby there and she is a wonderful dog. I don't think they have any labradoodle pups coming soon though. They have not been breeding much lately due to an unexpected death in the family. And remember- always check with the local humane society and Better Business Bureau before you make a purchase. Good luck! Robin http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MyLabradoodle/ Yahoo!
