So, I'm at puppy school Monday night with Shaggy (see pictures), my 16
week old F1B doodle. I was standing waiting for the class to start and
this woman comes over to me and says, "What kind of dog is he?" I
said, "He's a labradoodle." She says, "Oh! I've heard of those dogs,
you know, I just don't understand why people pay so much for those
dogs, they are not even a real breed." (I am sitting here thinking, am
I not standing here with my doodle? Is she insane? How dare she!) So
ever the polite person, I said, "Well, you know, for me, both my son
and I are allergic to dogs, and originally the dogs were bred in
Australia to be guide and working dogs for people who have allergies.
Both my son and I are allergic. As for the price, I gladly paid the
money to finally have a dog as we are huge dog lovers, that does not
bother our allergies, and has such delightful qualities of each
breed!" She just said, "Oh, I can see what you mean." I mean, how
rude! I think I handled myself well. Snobby lady. Thought you guys
might enjoy my funny story!
