Our website is www.apbpets.com, I thought I put it on there, but must have gotten side tracked. I have a shih tzu/ poodle mix that I have gotten about 900 applications on, everyone from people who have three dogs tied to dog houses and don't need dog shots in their area, to a lady who's dog sleeps in her bed and goes to doggy day care three days a week. Geez, wonder who's getting the dog. LOL. There were actually quite a few good apps and I hate telling good apps that they don't get the dog because there is only one dog and a ton of good apps.
   Just a little overwhelmed by it all.
We don't ship dogs ever, if people want the dog they will come get it. We need to be sure that we will get the dog back if they don't want it anymore rather than dumping it at the most convenient place, the pound closest to them. Plus we do home visits to make sure the people live where they say they live and are not collectors or hoarders and to make sure the people take good care of the animals they have. Our dogs have already all been through, at least, one bad home, we do everything we can to make sure they don't have to do it again. Yes, it is easier to find a breeder or pet shop who will sell a dog to anybody, but we find plenty of really great homes who are happy to jump through our hoops to get a dog who has lived with us and have somebody who can tell them about the dogs personality. Our adoption fee is $175 and sometimes that even covers the vet work we put into the dogs. We just did an FHO surgery on a little toy poodle along with a spay and even the greatest rescue vets can't afford to do that for $175. We do A LOT of fundraising and begging, LOL. But we make sure everone who goes out is in the best possible shape that they can be in. My dad tells people I rescue dogs for free. I see the paycheck almost every day, especially in these doodles who had to be cornered to be caught on day one and now come running when I call them! It is VERY rewarding!!!

Ah yes,third party shippers.  AND they will give you MORE than your asking price...yea right....I've reported several of those.   Computer calls are another I will not take.  if they found me on the web or in an add they have my e-mail and web site and contact info.  Watch out for those as well.

Thanks Abbie!  I'm right there with you!  I've received some of the strangest scarey calls about my puppies and dogs............I do tons of solcilazation with them.  As a matter of ffact, we do personlaity testing at 7 weeks (Volhards) and 2 trainers here in ATL are planning on filming the testing to use as an instructional vidieo....I'm excited, I hope it works out for them.  I also have a fried that is a show handler who is comming out to evel their conformation for me...yes I konow doodles don't show but this gal is a sharp cookie in the AKC world and has a great eye............
