Thanks Jon... Yes I see they are keeping the hair shorter... but then again a Lab would have that problem.

This is interesting...  My foundation females have always wanted to retrieve things for me... including small animals at
times.. but alive.. even though they throw service puppies.. (dog that work with the disabled) it didn't surprise me cause
they want to bring stuff back to us... it's a very strong trait...

Sheila....I'm not a hunter, but our 13 month-old labradoodle LOVES the water and, possibly even more so, the snow. We have a vacation house in the Sierras (near Lake Tahoe) and the only way that I can get him in from the snow is with a (food) bribe! The downside is that with his long hair, he is one giant icicle and "melts" just about everywhere...we clean puddles for a while. He loves going in the lake and, again, it takes a bribe to get him out. I'm not at all surprised, given that both poodles and labs are hunting/water dogs.

I have some people who have purchased my Standard AU multi-gen labradoodles.. We breed them
for service work but I am getting feedback that they are awesome companion hunting dogs.  Mellow easy
to train.. love the water and won't shed in the house so the guys actually get to bring them inside.

Does anyone else have a story like this?  I have been in Labradoodles since 2001 and this was my first story
regarding hunting companions.
