Price of a labradoodle is anywhere from FREE( for an older F1 black one, YES a poor breeder had this in our local paper) to 2500. Usually the F1 or LO (first generation) 50/50 lab/poodle combo, from a good breeder start around 1000 and up. I start at 1200.
Sounds like you got a gem....so did she. Glad it all worked out for you and your family....and of course Miss Daisey.............

Hello:My name is Carla and our family lives in. I had been thinking of getting an animal for the kids and me, so my daughter and I went to the Humane Society on the pretense that I was just going to look. We got there, walked a dog and then I walked down to where the larger dogs were and noticed these two black dogs with wirey, curly hair. They were not a miniature size but, you know the average 3-4 month old puppy size. Well, when I looked at the tags it said Schnauzer & Poodle no schnoodle! And that they were 6 months old. Of course, no one would ever think that a Humane Society would have hybrid (is that the new name for mutt?) or designer dog there! LOL (otherwise they would have written Schnoodle). So we walked the one with the curliest hair and I fell in love with her immediately. My daughter wasnt so sure, but I knew that there was something about this little girl that was very unique. So we walked her around towards some other people we had chatted with when we walked the first dog. I asked them what they thought she was and both sets of people definitely said a Labradoodle! So we took her back in and walked a third dog. I knew in my heart I wanted to get the second dog (her) but wanted to give another dog the chance (a puppy border collie). We went back in and got back to the 2nd dogs cage and there were 3 families there admiring, if not arguing, who was going to take her out next. Well I had told the attendant not to let anyone have her because I was sure that we wanted her. It was so funny when we walked up and the guy open the gate to get her out for us the people just looked at me with daggers. This one lady asked if I was taking her on a walk I said, Yeah! A really lonnnnnng walk! She looked at me funny like what? And then I told her that we were adopting her. She then said to me, You know what she is dont you? And I said, Yes, maam! So for $60 we have our baby girl, Daisy Mo-may (courtesy of Jake, her 4 year old brother). Although, Ive invested a lot more into this little princess! She has mommy wrapped! Springfield ,Missouri Daisy is absolutely our life! The kids just adore her and can not wait to get home from school to see her! But I think it goes both ways because she is tickled pink when THEY get home! Daisy became easily acquainted with our home and LOVES going to the lake and car riding. She now weighs about 55lbs and Im feeding her large puppy food. She sleeps on the bed with me when the kids are gone and follows me everywhere through the house. We take her over to my mom and dads who have a large golden lab and a hybrid of something. We like to call, Lulu a Labrusky because shes part Golden Lab and Husky. Uncle Charlie and Aunt Lulu cant wait until Daisy comes and when we pull up into the drive Daisy leaps over everyone to get out of the car. Trust me! She knows where shes at!Ive been reading a little bit of the boards lately about bad breath. Well Miss D has been having that issue too. So Ive been checking out the responses to help her out a bit.Ive set up a photo album with pictures of her at yahoogroups for this listserv. I finally broke down a few weeks ago and took her to a groomer because I couldnt get her mats out. When we got there, there were 3 Goldendoodles waiting to be groomed as well same problem. But that will be the last time that she gets cut that short Im too much of a sensory person to miss those beautiful curls. I love snuggling with her.Things Daisy loves playing with her stuffed animals (she kept getting into the kids so we created her own collection). Going to garage sales are great for these! For $.25 I bring them home and wash them up and she LOVES them. My grandma actually started this for her. She also loves going to 3 Dog Barkery for treats, taking the kids to school, giving hugs, playing Mancala (see the picture), AKC stuffed animals from Target (Pheasant, Chipmunk, Mallard and Cardinal are her favorites), going swimming, ice cubes and just being with us. We generally get her collars from Old Navy or the Harley store. Now youre probably wondering just really how do I know that shes a Labradoodle. Well, she has webbed feet and my vet confirmed that she is. My mom kids me because whenever Daisys in the car, its like driving Miss Daisy!Okay so Im really curious because we received a gift that in no way we could ever afford. Just how much is everyone paying for these special friends? This may been a topic discussed before and I do apologize if it was.I have not heard of any in our area, and of course, I dont have her history. Theres a breeder in my city thats doing the Goldens and people are driving all over to get them. A friend of mine drove fromjust to get one (his name is Ben Kenobi Star Wars fans). St. Louis So that was a long one whew! But thank you for having this group. I enjoy reading about all the other fun kids on this list.Sincerely,CarlaMom to Bennett (Shaken Baby Survivor dx 3/19/2000 at age 9 mos), Kiersty and Jake!
