Hi Carol. Thanks for the email. I also enjoyed your site. We are in Newnan,
GA. I was so sad to give up our cats. While GA did amend its laws regarding
bengals, savannahs technically are still not permitted. I am sure it will only
be a matter of time. I placed a few of my females in co-own agreements with
other catteries. My children miss the pets. We were very small, with only one or
two litters at a time so we could give them all lots of attention. We bred for
quality, not quantity.
We have discussed it and we would like to purchase a labradoodle and a
suitable mate. We are still trying to educate ourselves as to what would be wise
purchases. In hindsight, when we first starting breeding savannahs, I made a few
mistakes in choosing initial sires and dams. The F1, F2, etc. is different for
labradoodles than it is for savannahs. We don't incorporate a 'b' for example. I
want to make sure we choose a puppy or older dog that will make a wonderful pet
and also a quality breeder. I am still trying to learn what colors, coats, sizes
are preferred/ familiarize myself with the standards, etc.
We wanted to get our puppy now as the weather is still great and the
children are spending a lot of time outdoors and it just happens to be 2 of our
4 children's birthdays in the upcoming weeks so it would coincide nicely with
the addition of a new family member. Any advice, referrals, thoughts, etc. would
be much appreciated. I also would love to visit sometime.
Sincerely,
Trysh
