Hi Everyone,
Oliver got neutered yesterday and we found out he has hip
displaysia. Both hips and there's lots of movement. We're going to
start him on a Glucosamine/Condroitin/MSM supplement and see how it
goes. Luckily I take the supplement anyway so he can just share
mine. ;o) Does anyone have any other suggestions? We didn't get him
directly from the breeder so there's nothing to do there (I wouldn't
send him back anyway), but I'm going to call them today and let them
know just for their records. Who knows, maybe his hips will tighten
over time.

Meanwhile, he is a wrecking ball on legs with that cone. Holy cow!
We didn't get much sleep last night. He sleeps in our room and he
kept pacing. It would kit the bed, then scrape along the wall, hit
the bed again then hit the door.....OMG. I finally had to put him in
the living room and block the stairs so he stayed there. Poor guy.
We could still hear him banging into things down there but it was a
lot more tolerable. I think he's having a hard time getting
comfortable.

Are there any alternatives to the cone? Can't I just wrap him up
with a bandage? Will he tear that off? I might just try it while I
can watch him.

And the funniest part is that he just has no clue. He'll ram me with
the cone and then just look up wagging his tail like "Hi! Can I help
with anything?". He's so sweet.
