Run an electric fence around the property. Can either use a collar on the dog
or run a cattel fence with an exposed hot wire. the shock is mild. We had a
team of 30 sled dogs years ago contained in their compound with only a hot wire
a foot off the ground. No tunnelers or jumpers........:)

I currently have an underground electric fence and my 6 dogs are contained on
8 acres with NO problem............

I wish someone would tell me because My Sam is doing the
same thing but when I call him he won't come in the door but runs and jumps
back in the yard .. I am thinking of running a hot wire around the top of the
fence .

  Subject: [labradoodles] Fence Climber

Hi there. I have two doodles. One is almost 2(fm) and one is 1.5
(male). My male has figured out how to climb our back fence
(chainlink). Last Sunday he disappeared - couldn't figure out how he
got out of our yard. Then Monday I watched him scale the fence. How do
I prevent this or is this an ongoing and worsening problem? They are
not out in the yard for prolonged periods of time at all! They are
both walked but are let out to go play and go to the bathroom but then
Coleman runs to the spot and escapes to frolic. I have stopped driving
around calling for him. I just back out of the driveway and honk and
he appears. Any ideas?
