Kathy,
Thanks for the compliment of my Ace's article snif, snif..;(...he was a
beautiful F1, His mom Jade has produced several more like him with varying
coats, her last litter did produce some scruffy doodles though without all that
shag.......She will be bred for the last time to my Chocolate boy Rhett this
spring.........
The Back cross to a poodle generally produces beautiful fleece soft coats
with an occational wool or curly fleece. At least that's been my experience.
Had Ace survivied I was planning on breeding him to my Kalie an F1b with a
fleece coat for a litter of F2's. Kalie was just bred and had a litter of
Austrailian puppies with the most soft incredibly soft fleece coats.....much
nicer than the F1b's actually.......takes a while to get there with coat
development.
fondly,
Carol

Love your website. My Willow has the best coat. She is an F1 and
her coat is thick and wavy. I want to keep her coat without it getting too
curly breeding her with a poodle. Maybe I will see about finding a F1 male
with a matching coat next time. I can't get a good picture of her being
black and liking to lick the camera ! The doodle that looks closest to her is
Ace at Southern Charm. (grab a tissue this article will make you cry and hug
your doodle.)
