I was at the airport this morning and a lady was trying to fly a dog into Chicago and was told the flight was canceled and to rebook in April~ This was at Northwest.

Usually what they mean is that animal shipments are day-to-day. You have to call ahead to make sure the temp. restrictions are not in effect. With American and United that is 20 degrees.
