I had a Boston that did this and was told he may have had a vitamin def. was told to add 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar to his water bowl approx 1/2 gal of H20...Hey it worked he did stop the licking within a few days. Can't hurt and it's actually good for them. Sharon
