Hi All,

I've just changed Nagios to use the 'nice' FQDN for hosts - this means they will now show up as <shortname>.region.wmflabs, rather than i-<random>.<region>.<wmflabs>.

For example i-0000009e.pmtpa.wmflabs becomes bots-cb.pmtpa.wmflabs.

Hopefully this will be a little easier on the brain, let me know if you see any issues around monitoring.

As a reminder the following hosts are currently ignored as they are either down or not accepting traffic from the monitoring server's IP:
analytics.pmtpa.wmflabs
deployment-backup.pmtpa.wmflabs
deployment-feed.pmtpa.wmflabs
configtest-main.pmtpa.wmflabs
deployment-cache-bits02.pmtpa.wmflabs
conventionextension-test.pmtpa.wmflabs
wlm-apache1.pmtpa.wmflabs
utrsweb.pmtpa.wmflabs
wlm-mysql-master.pmtpa.wmflabs
bugzillatesting.pmtpa.wmflabs
fawikitest.pmtpa.wmflabs
home-migrate-lucid.pmtpa.wmflabs
nova-precise1.pmtpa.wmflabs

Have a good Christmas :)

- Damian
