I had started on this. The puppet package we're using here is bad. We're using some weird version of puppet that hardcodes the version of ruby on install to something broken. I was going to change everything to use the precise version of puppet, but was unsure how that would affect lucid.
Also, you'd need access to virt1000 ;). virt0/1 are now gone since we moved to eqiad.
