I'm going to upgrade the labs infrastructure from Openstack Havana
to Openstack Icehouse on this Wednesday, November 17th. I'll be
starting work at 9AM my time, which is 15:00 UTC. The whole process
should only take a few hours, but it's hard to predict. I'll be on IRC
for the duration of the upgrade.
This should not produce any service interruptions on labs instances
(or tool labs.) There may be brief interruptions to network service or
DNS, but I don't expect them to be noticeable. If you DO encounter
serious changes in instance behavior, please look for me on IRC.
During the upgrade there will be sporadic interruptions in the
OpenStack API as the various components disagree about API versions.
That means that wikitech's lab control interfaces will be even more
unreliable than ever.
If at any point during the upgrade it looks like instances suffer
extended downtime, I'll halt the upgrade and regroup. Keep an eye on
this list for updates.
