Update: This is in progress now. So far, the pauses that instances are experiencing have been quite brief (seconds rather than minutes.)

We're going to try to apply this change via suspend/resume cycles rather than via reboots -- that means that each VM should experience a minute or two (or three) of hesitation but should not register any reboots.

If this goes badly and it turns out that actual reboots are needed I will reschedule the maintenance for a later date with more notice. For now, though, no action is required from any of you.
