In my experience when I send an email via gmail to a list that I'm subscribed to, I NEVER receive a copy of the message that I sent in my inbox. I think that's google being efficient and preventing you from holding multiple copies.

    I. e., the mail was successfully received from Gmail and
    sent back to Gmail.  IIRC Gmail marks mails sent by you as
    read ("feature").

    A test for [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>
    worked fine.
