Hi,

I read this in our local paper, and had to read it again. It was in the
middle of a story about recent robberies in our area.

"One of the robberies never occurred and the case has been closed by an
arrest."

(I wondered how an arrest was made if the robbery didn't happen.)

It referred to another story in the paper, and turned out to be a theft
of money by an employee, with the robbery report made to hide the theft.
The employee was arrested for the theft and false report. That made
sense, but the initial reference (above) left out the key details. This
is why most people in this area don't put much faith in the writings in
the local paper. Many people subscribe to the paper for the TV listings
and the obituaries.

Now we're going out to dinner. Have fun reading your local paper!
