Actually, I think Merle Streep gets better and better
looking all the time!  She and Clint Eastwood really sizzled
in "Bridges of Madison County".  And frankly, I think
Katherine Hepburn's looks just kept improving the older she
got.  I'm way past the age of adoring the movie ingenues.
Their roles don't usually appeal to me.  But unfortunately,
people my age aren't the ones who drive the market in films,
so roles for more mature women are few and far between.
Tamara mentioned "Tea with Mussolini" - that movie had SO
many greats...  Cher, Judi Dench, Joan Plowright, Maggie
Smith, Lily Tomlin!  And then there was another goodie, "The
Witches of Eastwick" with Cher (again), Michelle Pfeiffer,
and Susan Sarandan.  Still, there are some good ones out
there who have proved that looks aren't everything...  Kathy
Bates, for example.
