This is a very good idea!! You all might remember that much earlier in the year, in response to objections about "all the advertising" on Arachne, a special "News" mailing list was set up for such announcements.
There was actually so little "advertising" going on that I for one have never received one message from the Arachne News list. I don't have the time to spend chasing round the same web page looking for new items all the time, but I like to know what new things the suppliers have, so I for one have signed up to this new service.
