About a month ago, the long-awaited new Harry Potter book hit the shops and there was a flurry of emails about the book by a few people who had read it. Then there was nothing.
It took me a while to get TO the book... I had a couple of other books to get through before I could read it. I finally finished it last night, and I just want to say that in my opinion, it was definitely not her best effort. Several early reports on this list noted that it was filled with anger - and to that I say, "and then some...". I thought the book lacked the delightful imagery of the earlier books, and as a result the story seemed rather flat to me. I knew someone had died in the book... and felt sure I knew who it was fairly early on... But I'm glad to say I was wrong! So now I'm glad to be free to pursue some of the great titles suggested on this list! I bought a copy of Brown's "The Da Vinci Code", even though I've read very mixed reviews... It still seems to be "right up my alley". Clay To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace-chat [EMAIL PROTECTED]
