I am reading an "Owen Archer" book by candice Robb at the moment - also an
historical novel - around 1370. They, too are excellent, for those who like
that type of book.
Me :) The "Hugh Corbett" ones are as good, though I can't remember either the author, or any of the titles; I find them in the library by their position on the shelves <g>
There's also a writer -- Sharyn something-or-other -- who started an excellent mystery series about France of the time of Abelard and Heloise. Unfortunately, I think she's painted herself into a corner; the female protagonist is a French half-Jew, but her love-interest (and, eventually, DH) is a Brit. So they go to England... The last book (4th in the series) I read -- placed in England -- was not as interesting simply because there are so many historical mysteries placed in England already.
