Dear Lacemakers,

Last December I went to the National Christmas Lacemakers' Fair at
Birmingham and bought a couple of items. Both were new to me, and I'm not
sure exactly what to call either of them, (so they may be on your list
without my having recognised them). But whatever they're called, I wouldn't
be without either of them now!

One looks like a horseshoe made of green plastic, which supports fine thread
so that it doesn't rub on the fabric of the pillow cover.
The other supports one's pattern. The pattern is held between a pair of
wooden holders, which are mounted on pins so that you can sit the pattern on
the pillow - very convenient.

You can see them here:-

Scroll down until you see the green horseshoe, and the pattern-holder is
just above it.

(I'm afraid that web page shows all sorts of other goodies which may begin
to look like essentials . . . Sorry!)

Best wishes,
Linda Walton,

where it's *very* hot and sticky again.
So should we add a box of those handwipes to the list?
You know, a sealed waterproof box containing tissues damped with some sort
of cooling and cleaning lotion or eau-de-Cologne, which evaporates very
quickly.).
