You remind me of a trip home in 1979, with the whole family - children then
aged 6, 8 and 10. We travelled up to Scotland, and on the way, I made the
mistake of telling the children that when I was a child, I had been told that
Scotsmen don't wear anything under their kilt.

We arrived in Gretna Green, and as I dealt with the two younger children as we
de-camped from the motorhome, I saw out of the corner of my eye my eldest son,
a trouble-maker from way-back, heading off out of the car park in a very
purposeful manner.

My calls to him were ignored, so I raised my eyes even further to see where he
was heading....and discovered the largest Scotsman I have ever seen, wearing,
of course, a kilt!! I just *knew* what Philip was going to do, so abandoned
the younger two to their fate, and ran...I don't think I've ever run so fast
before - I just had to get to Philip before he got to the man!!

I got to him just before he could open his mouth, or indeed do anything else,
and forcefully propelled him back to the rest of the family. He had indeed
been planning to investigate for himself whether the story about what Scotsmen
wear under their kilts is true!!!!
