It's possible that IE was never set as your default browser, so your OE doesn't know that it's supposed to "talk" to it. Try this: 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. Select Tools > Internet Options. 3. Click the Programs tab. Make sure that the checkbox that says "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" is checked.
If that doesn't work and you or your husband are inclined to probe deeper, try the suggestions here: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/WinXP/Q_20492798.html#7887 451. Although the original question came from someone using WinXP, some of the suggestions apply to all systems. Good luck. You shouldn't have to take the computer to the shop. At worst, you should be able to reinstall OE from your system CD. This will wipe out all your mail and settings, so REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR ADDRESS BOOK FIRST. If you don't know where it is, write to me privately and tell me what system you're using and I'll try to help you. There's been some very intriguing URL's posted on lace and my e-mail program won't access them :( By that I mean I can't just click onto the URL's and go there. I'm using OE. DH is having the same problem trying to access his flight-sim sites. I hate having to dismantle the whole computer for what is a software problem :( Thanks. Sharon on hot Vancouver Island. Thankfully our forests aren't burning up like on the mainland and where whole communities have been evacuated and are now gone.
