Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically
attract all the loose hairs. (Shouldn't that be electrostatically attract
all the loose hairs?)
Years ago, I tried Bounce in my drier, and it "infected" all the laundy -- I broke out in hives when I wore anything from those loads, untill everything was re-washed. So I don't have any on hand to try. You're right Jean, the tricks do sound ineresting, and I may get a box to try them (next time I see a cents-off coupon in the paper <g>)
But, speaking of using things for a purpose other than specified... What I *did* try today was a Swiffer sheet. I've never used those as intended -- ie to sweep the floors, since I much prefer to vacuum. I do use them to dust, and to get rid of cobwebs on the ceilings, and they work a treat.
But today I used one differently... I finished mounting my "technicolour" version of Lovebirds on a piece of midnight blue velveteen and was about to put it in its frame, when I realised that the velveteen looked a bit dusty (boy, does stuff *show* on that dark background <g>). Didn't want to use the sticky tape method, since I was afraid that it might harm the lace itself (plus, I have some reservations about that process anyway; surely, if the stickum picks up "stuff", it also leaves some stickum behind?). Didn't want to brush it, for the same reasons... Decided to give a Swiffer sheet a try... And, by golly, it worked like a charm:) The piece, in its frame, is now wrapped and will be packed and mailed off tomoroow, but I'm wondering whether I should include a Swffer sheet with it -- I bet there'll be dust coming off the wrapping ("lacy" coctail napkins)...
