It's not only this method of execution that no longer exists in England - execution doesn't exist at all. Some of us think it should for some crimes, like the recent one where a man got 5 years in jail (probably means he'll be out in 2 and a half) for the rape of a thirteen month old baby girl. The fact that he was remorseful and unlikely to do it again was taken into account when the sentence was set.
