You're showing your age - 'hipsters' was what we called them. Now they're called "low rise" - work that phrase out. I was always under the impression that if you exposed a fleshy part of the body, in cold weather extra fat was laid down there for protection. So if you wore mini-skirts in winter, then your thighs got a bit fatter. If this is so, then these young girls can look forward to having fat bellies. I've yet to see one who doesn't have at least a small roll of fat overhanging the top of the trousers.
