I need help...
What's the English term -- *is* there an English term? -- for the "do-dad" that used to show up on old maps? It looks like what one sees on a compass: a convergence of rhombuses (rhombi?), usually 8, sometimes 16, but at least 4, each pointing to a different direction.
In Polish, it's called "the rose of the winds" but I don't think I've ever heard the English term...
