Hi,

Just a note in passing. Those of us who suffered from Isabel, having no power for two
days, could not answer messages to indicate whether we were ok. We had no power, we
couldn't very well check e-mail or send messages.

I guess I'm just sending a cautionary note here that those people who do suffer from
storms or other natural disasters will not be answering quickly and will feel
forgotten,
since the subject will have moved on way before they can answer. And yet, these are
the
people who will need to speak about it the most.

Isabel was a disaster north of Ottawa, Ontario, and yes, that is in Quebec. Over 5,000
families spent over 40 hours without power. That was not easy.

Right now, Halifax is picking itself up from another hurricane. I hope that all our
lacemaking friends are fine, and will wait to hear from them. I know that many phone
lines were down in Halifax yesterday and that many people are still having difficulties
reaching friends and family today, so I will wait and hope that all is well.

For all of you on the east coast of Canada, let us know how you fare whenever you can,
and please, feel free to talk (or write) as much as you want. I for one, will read
every message.

Lise-Aurore
