As you get older your thoughts turn to death so it wasn't too surprising that John and Dan who were in their 70s used to read the obituries in the paper first.
Every thursday, when the paper came out, John would phone Dan and they would gossip about who had died. One week, John opened the paper to see his own obituary in the paper. Grabbing the phone, he quickly rand Dan. Dan answered the phone and John shouted down the receiver, 'Dan, it's John here, have you read the paper yet?' 'No' said John. 'Well turn to the obituraries then' There was a russling noise followed by a pause. Then Dan quietly said, 'where exactly are you ringing from?'
