Yes. We drive on the left, but stand on the right on escalators on the tube. Curiously, in the busier corridors in the tube, the signs usually say "Keep Left". Regarding what someone said earlier about riding on the left so your sword hand was free if a stranger approached, I once told this story to an American friend, to illustrate that our way of drving (on the left) was superior to his <g>. He wouldn't have this, so I asked what he would have done, riding his horse on the right, if a stranger approached and drew his sword. He said, "I'd get out my gun and shoot him!"
