Ruth's posting made me think of the first time I came to Colorado, in
January 1991. A gentleman next to me on the plane, gave me the best
advice, as we were flying over the Rockies, and I was admiring the snow
capped ranges - "Just remember, the mountains will always be to your
West". This helped me orient so nicely, when I landed and was in town,
and I still use it now, when driving around town.

I know that the first time I started gardening here, when we moved to
our first house in summer 1994, I got all screwed up, as the sun was in
the wrong part of the sky - it still goes E to W, but instead of
traveling around to the North, like it does down under, and thereby
making the N side of ones house and garden the hottest, it travels to
the South, so I had to relearn my orientation and gardening :-)

Cheers,
Helen, in lovely sunny, but breezy Denver, and who Thanks all of the
Veterans for her freedoms.
