That reminds me of a similar gift in our family. Our Mother
was in her final months battling cancer, and one of my
sisters decided to take a big box of family pictures
(everybody has one of THOSE!) whenever she spent time with
Mom. They would go through the pictures, and Mom would say,
"Oh, that's...." and my sister would make notes, ask
questions, etc. It became a very pleasant time for my Mom,
and she was able to remember her life, her family, and the
happy times gone by. She died the week before Thanksgiving,
and by Christmas, my sister had organized all the pictures,
had atttached Mom's comments, and had had the whole lot put
together in the form of a pictoral history. She had this
reproduced, and gave each of her sisters two copies for
Christmas. This insures that each of our children (we each
have two...) would eventually have a copy of this wonderful
record.

It was time consuming, but the time was so good for our
Mother, and for my sister. And the result is something I'll
always treasure.
