DH was at an outdoor gathering in the late 70s, and did the same thing. He asked his friends for help, but still couldn't get it open. Word spread around the gathering, and soon a respectable chap appeared, asked everyone to look the other way, and did whatever it was ... Half a minute later, he said "That's it!" and walked away. <G> No damage, no clues, just an open car ... An unsung (by his own choice) hero!
