This made me think to ask UK Arachneans if they can help. Our cold water tank overflow is dripping (well running in the mornings) until we've run water off from the hot tank to lower the level in the cold tank. DH has had a look and reckons we need a new valve, which he doesn't want to tackle. As there are so many cowboy tradesmen out there, we're a bit reluctant to just find a plumber (if we can as they seem to be in short supply) from the Yellow Pages. Before we bother the neighbours to see if anyone can recommend one, I seem to remember that an organisation like 'Help the Aged' or 'Age Concern' or some group like that keeps local lists of reliable tradesmen so that pensioners (which we now both are) don't get ripped off. Am I just imagining that I've heard of this, or does any UK Arahnean know which organisation? Thanks.
