Gerrard Hoffnung (who I first heard tell this as part of his Oxford Union
Speech many years ago) was featured on TV some time this week (I think it
might have been last night) as one of Ronnie Barker's favourite comedians. I
meant to make a note of it just in case he was featuring the bricklayer, but
missed it. It's featured on a BBC audio cassette called 'Hoffnung: the last
encore" along with other bits including one featuring a French hotelier
offering 'French widows' in every bedroom.
