'Crewel World' is the first in a series of 7 novels by Monica Ferris, published in the US. I enquired in my local library and was told that they'd never heard of them, couldn't find them in any catalogue, and that they'd be unlikely to be able to get them. Then on to Ottakers bookstore, who said that they couldn't get books from the US and that they weren't hopeful of any bookseller being able to get them, but try Amazon.uk. I bought the whole series through Amazon. They're less than half the price of a UK paperback.
They are Jessica Fletcher type mysteries set in and around a needlework shop in Excelsior, Minnesota. I'm working my way very slowly (due to doing other things) through the one published at the beginning of this year - 'Cutwork'. The series is: Crewel World, Framed in Lace, A Stitch in Time, Unraveled Sleeve, A Murderous Yarn, Hanging by Thread, Cutwork.
