BUT, when it left me (and I've checked) it read "the previous year's two or
three programmes we had watched had cost us about (thirty pounds) each."
The bit in brackets I had put in as a pound sign and figures but it
disappeared in transit.
I think it's the sign that wasn't liked at the rest of the figures
transmitted OK.
Stranger on top of strange... :) That bit of the message reached me as it had left you -- as L 30 (can't reproduce a pound sign on my keyboard. Or, not without lots of fiddling)... So it seems that your puter can write, my puter can read... Between the two of them, we might have one intelligent beast <g>
