Hi Liz No we don't seem to celebrate St george's day much, and when we do try we are labelled as racist for wanting to do so.
A pub in my area wanted a licence extension for St George's Day celebrations but it was refused by the authorities, he could have and does get them for St Patrick's Day etc etc but for St George - question is who are the ones being racist? You just try and fly the English flag over here and see what happens every ethinic minority is up in arms about it. Last year people were ordered to remove the English flag when all they wanted to do was show their support for the English football team! Yet the opposition flags were allowed to fly by the dozen!!! Don't all jump on me about this, as I really don't mind anyone being patriotic about their country/ football team or whatever, why shouldn't they be, but why one rule for one and another for the home country?
