Here is a real challenge for the list!

I was talking with my son last night about plays (his high school are just
putting on a string of 18 one-act plays directed by seniors). I have a vague
recollection of a play, from the Theatre of the Absurd genre. It is 30 years
since I read it, and I can recall finding it extremely funny, but all I can
remember otherwise was that it had several grandfather clocks in it,
possibly singing the "Hallelujah chorus". I think it was set in a house, in
the lounge or dining room.

Does anyone know the title or playwright?

(I have tried Google, Ask Jeeves, the local library - so please prove to me
that the lace list is more useful than any of these !!!!!)
