I used to do some hanging out on the upper floor with the sash ones, these casement 
ones open wide enough that you can reach through the gap and clean the other side so 
long as the window is not too wide.  They are also double glazed with energy efficient 
glass and the seal is excellent when they are closed. (Anderson replacement windows).  
There I've given them a free plug.  On the back upstairs we have very wide windows and 
we replaced with with sliders that you can lift out, similar to door wall windows.  
Haven't done that yet as who needs to clean windows too often, I prefer to spend my 
time designing and making lace.  At least now putting the screens in takes a few 
seconds instead of an all day job.
