I think there was some talk a while ago about deer being a nuisance in some people's gardens (my own garden being too small for even one deer I didn't pay proper attention <G>).
Today on the radio (Sarah Kennedy, or maybe Terry Wogan) a listener's advice was to ask your local hairdresser for all their cut-hair floor sweepings, and spread those over your borders - the deer would hate it and stay away. This sounds intriguing - I wonder if it works? I cut DH's hair, and shake the trimmings out into our back garden, and the birds don't want it even in the nesting season ...
