I absolutely concur and would most definitely get his measurements, then
try to measure what you buy. It seems like t-shirts run small down there
(or they shrink when they go in the drier here, or both), and knowing
how different manufacturers cut differently (Gap cuts big on their
childrens' clothes and Gymboree cuts small), measurements are the way to
go.
